Jennifer Smith, MHSc, SLP Reg. CASLPO
Jennifer is a Speech-Language Pathologist registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). She is a proud graduate of the University of Toronto and holds the degree of Master of Health Science in Speech-Language Pathology. Jen has experience working with preschool and school-aged children in clinic, community, and hospital settings in both Southern and Northern Ontario. She has provided assessment and intervention in the areas of articulation/phonological disorders, expressive and receptive language delays, social communication, motor speech, fluency (stuttering), voice, cognitive communication, and literacy skills. She also has experience working with pediatric clients diagnosed with ASD and ADHD, as well as those experiencing the effects of stroke, brain injury or neurological impairments. Jen strives to make therapy a fun and rewarding experience! She believes in a team approach and encourages collaboration with parents, caregivers, and teachers to provide the most successful environment for her clients. Jen is actively expanding her clinical skills by participating in continuing education programs in order to provide personalized, evidence-based, and family-centered care. She has attended several workshops and conference lectures relating to topics such as screen time, stuttering, solution-focused therapy, and supportive communication strategies for adults with aphasia. When she isn't working as an S-LP Jen can be found baking new recipes in order to satisfy her sweet tooth, and hosting game nights with her family and friends. |
